What People Wonder

The questions people ask before they show their feathers. If yours is not here, write to us — a person answers.

Does It Cost Anything To Create A Passion Plume?

No. Your annual membership covers everything — joining any Plume, starting as many as you like, writing to anybody. Nobody pays to host, and nobody is ever charged between you.

What Is A Passion Plume?

The thing you would cross town for, put up by somebody who loves it and found by the people who love it too. A salon, a club, a class, an outing, a table, a circle — chess at seven, a dawn swim, a recipe table with five countries at it. If you can dream it, you can create it here.

What Does It Cost?

One membership, one price, once a year. It is on the front page in plain sight, and it renews on the same day each year unless you stop it — which you can from My Plumes, kindly and in one press.

Can I Look Before I Join?

Every Plume is open to read. To join one, start one, or write to somebody, you are a member.

Can I Join More Than One?

As many as you like. Host three, join nine. Everyone has their own plumage.

What If There Is No Room?

Some Plumes have seats and they fill. Why not start your own? If you are thinking about it, somebody else is too.

Can A Host Say No To Me?

Yes. A host may set their Plume to ask me first, and may ask anybody to leave. It is their Plume, run their way. Nobody is told why, and there are hundreds of others.

Who Sees Where I Live?

Nobody. We ask for a postcode, so Near You means near you, and never an address. A Plume that meets in one place keeps its address for the members of that Plume alone.

Can I Give It To Somebody?

Yes — a year of LA PASSION.life, given. It waits three months for them to say yes, and they never see a price. Give A Year.

Can I Host With Somebody?

Yes. A host names a co-host from the members — and any member can offer, with one tick. If the host ever steps away, the Plume is the co-host’s to carry on.

Is It Only Australia?

Near you, across Australia, or from anywhere on earth. A Plume that meets online can hold people in five countries at once.

How Old Do I Have To Be?

Eighteen or over.

What Do You Expect Of Me?

Respect. Communication. Privacy. Confidentiality. And joy — it is the whole point. Protecting The Passion says it properly.
